Summary

The Quality Assurance & Sanitation Manager oversees the quality systems at Rustic Crust and manages the sanitation department. The employee also serves as the SQF practitioner and is responsible for the implementation, verification, and validation of the SQF system, including the food safety and HACCP plan.


Responsibilities:

The QA & Sanitation Manager is responsible for maintaining, developing, and executing programs and procedures to lead Quality Assurance, Sanitation and SQF initiatives at Rustic Crust. This position reports directly to the COO of the company.

The QA Manager is responsible for maintaining a strong business relationship with the onsite USDA inspector and remain in compliance with all USDA policies.

It is the manager’s responsibility to create or update as necessary, any and all internal policies and procedures to satisfy SQF requirements. The manager also analyzes the impacts of regulatory changes as well as updates to the SQF code in order to determine and carry out the actions that need to be taken to ensure that Rustic Crust maintains compliance. The manager is on point to engage the production team in a coordinated plan around food safety and food quality. The ideal employee also assists in administering training to plant personnel on SQF and food safety topics. The QA & Sanitation Manager verifies that HACCP, GMPs, Standard Operating Procedures, and all Quality programs are being followed. Reporting to the QA manager is the QA supervisor and the Sanitation supervisor.

The QA and Sanitation manager hires, trains, directs and motivates the plant’s sanitation team.

He or she coordinates investigations and resolution activities or regulatory concerns. The manager executes and keeps record of appropriate corrective actions to be taken. He or she reviews quality assurance paperwork for accuracy and verification. This position is responsible for updating all customer portals from a regulatory and quality perspective. The manager modifies existing forms as needed to streamline QA workflow and increase transparency within the organization. He or she communicates with departments regarding product quality and record keeping issues.

Most importantly, The QA Manager is responsible to see that the company’s customers receive great tasting and safe products, day in and day out.

Requirements: 

-2-3 years experience in similar role
-Bachelor’s degree
-A Safe Quality Food Practitioner (SQF)
-Experience administering quality programs in a USDA food inspected facility
